Purpose of the Role:
Dis-Chem Life is on a mission to transform financial services in South Africa by putting people, energy, and innovation at the heart of everything we do. The Events and operations Coordinator plays a central role in enabling our Financial Advisors- Activation Specialists to deliver powerful, high-impact presentations, activations, and engagements across our Dis-Chem partner network and corporate partners.
Working alongside the Head of Distribution, this role ensures every event, from planning through to execution, runs seamlessly, reflects the professionalism of the Dis-Chem Life brand, and enhances our reputation for trust and excellence.
This is a hybrid of precision event management, proactive administrative support, and people engagement, a role for someone who thrives on structure, loves execution, and brings warmth and confidence to every interaction.
Role Summary
This role exists to ensure the flawless coordination and delivery of all advisor-led events, presentations, and distribution activities. You will be responsible for end-to-end event management, logistical planning, and administrative support for the Head of Distribution and elite advisor team.
The Events Coordinator manages everything behind the scenes, from booking venues and scheduling sessions to communicating with partners and being on-site to ensure events unfold smoothly.
You will also manage the administrative systems that keep the distribution engine running efficiently: tracking calendars, managing invitations, coordinating materials, and ensuring every event is delivered with precision and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities
Event Planning and Coordination
- Coordinate all advisor presentations, activations, and partner events from end to end.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to confirm event details, venues, and logistics.
- Oversee setup, catering, and event flow, ensuring professional execution on the day.
- Prepare presentation materials, branded collateral, and supporting documentation for each event.
- Be present at events to manage timing, logistics, and troubleshooting as required.
Administrative and Operational Support
- Manage the calendar of all distribution events, presentations, and partner engagements.
- Book appointments, confirm attendance, and manage communication touchpoints.
- Track expenses, manage event-related budgets, and coordinate supplier payments.
- Support the Head of Distribution with administrative and operational activities as required.
- Maintain structured filing, contact lists, and tracking systems for partner and advisor communication.
Advisor and Partner Communication
- Draft and send event invitations, confirmations, and reminders.
- Follow up with partners and advisors post-event for feedback and future opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with advisors and partner contacts.
- Act as a central point of contact for partner event logistics and scheduling queries.
Sales and Engagement Support
- Coordinate presentation opportunities across Dis-Chem and external corporate partners.
- Support lead generation and appointment scheduling for advisor presentations.
- Ensure all marketing and product materials are prepared, accurate, and on-brand.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve event effectiveness and impact.

Skills and Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in event coordination, marketing support, or executive administration.
- Proven experience managing logistics, communications, and event execution.
- Experience supporting senior leaders or sales/distribution teams preferred.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal, across all levels of stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
- Experience managing budgets, supplier relationships, and on-site event operations.
- Valid driver’s license and own transport (required).
- Willingness to travel nationally as required (essential)
Qualifications:
- Relevant diploma or degree in Events Management, Marketing, Communications, or Business Administration (preferred).
- Additional certifications in project or event management advantageous
